The Chicago Botanic Garden’s online botanical art class on fine-brush work and varied textures in watercolor is a virtual experience you can take anywhere!

Enhance the realism of your watercolor paintings by learning valuable insights on how to accurately depict intricate details and differences in texture such as glossy, silk-like, hairy, and prickly plant surfaces. Watch demonstrations of fine-brush painting techniques and methods to paint varied, lifelike plant surfaces and then apply these principles to your watercolor artwork.  John Pastoriza-Piñol is uniquely qualified as an award-winning botanical artist from Australia with a doctorate in botany from the University of Vigo, Spain. Prerequisite: Intermediate to advanced skills in drawing and watercolor. A supply list will be sent. The School’s CEUs=4 hours
