Burle Marx (1909–94), the Brazilian artist and landscape architect, is known for championing the use of native plants from Brazil and for modernist landscape designs including the promenade along Copacabana Beach in Rio de Janeiro.

The exhibition includes original Burle Marx paintings, original sketches for the seaside street Avenida Atlantica, hand-painted tapestries, and graphic woven textiles.
