New! Get ready to put on your hard hats, figuratively. Explore the methods the Chicago Botanic Garden used to reduce shoreline erosion while increasing ecological services. We'll cover project design, earthwork, and planting design; highlighting real-world successes, setbacks, and lessons learned to help you develop your projects and goals. We will cover native plant selection, shoreline and lake maintenance, planting plans, and sourcing. We'll give you guidance on tailoring maintenance based on your shoreline goals. You will learn about invasive management to make sure your plantings have the best opportunity to flourish. Portions of the course are held outdoors. Dress for the weather.
