Weigela

<p>'Elvera', perhaps better known as MIDNIGHT WINE®, is a deciduous shrub that has pink blooms from April through June and beautiful purple-burgundy foliage that turns even darker in the fall. At just 2 x 2 feet, it can easily fit into a container or a border, even in smaller yards. It can handle a wide range of soil types and conditions so long as it is well drained. Full sun is ideal, but it can tolerate some shade.</p>

<p>Bees, butterflies, and hummingbirds love
<em>Weigela</em>, and so do gardeners. For a plant that gives
you so much to look at, they're very easy to care for. No particular
disease or pest problems. No special soil requirements. No deadheading. Just give them
good drainage, reasonable moisture, and plenty of sun. Prune after
spring bloom...fall pruning puts  next year's flowers at risk.
