Friso Orienpet Lily

Lilium ‘Friso’ stands 3 to 4 feet tall with brilliant fuchsia flowers with crimson centers in July & August. The ends of the petals melt to white. The flowers are trumpet shaped and huge, measuring 8 inches across, and are delightfully fragrant. Also known as Silk Road, Frisco has won the North American Lily Society’s popularity poll for four years straight. Frisco is an Orienpet hybrid, a cross between an Oriental lily and a Trumpet lily which combines the tall, strong stems of the Trumpets with the fragrance and shape of the Orientals. These hybrids have an increased ability to withstand late spring frosts as well as hot summer days. The unsurpassed grace and beauty of this lily makes it a lovely addition to the garden. Lilies love full sun, but will do well in partial shade. They tolerate hot summer days, as long as the bulbs are deep enough to remain cool. Lower plants surrounding the lilies will help protect their roots from drying out. Lilies make an excellent cut flower with long lasting blooms and buds that continue to mature and open after cutting.
