Tall Bearded Iris

Iris 'Silverado' is a white to icy blue tall bearded iris with lovely ruffled petals. The beards are the same color but have yellow tips. The stems stand 38 inches high, each with 2 branches and up to 8 or 9 blooms in mid season. In 1989 Silverado was awarded Honorable Mention and the Fred and Barbara Walther popularity awards. It received Award of Merit in 1991, the Wister Medal in 1993, and the Dykes Metal in 1994. The Dykes Medal, given annually to just one tall bearded iris, is the highest award an iris can receive from the American Iris Society.
