Nobles firs are giant evergreen trees native to the Cascade Mountains from northern California to Washington. This dwarf conifer selection scarcely resembles its parents species. Steely blue foliage throughout the year and a dwarf spreading growth habit are the key characteristics of this cultivar. Growth rate is very slow, 3 to 8 inches per year. This plant can be difficult to establish, requiring light but even watering during the summer. It prefers cool summers, so light shade in the afternoon is preferred in warmer climates.
