As an intern, I grow fruits and vegetables, harvest, and prepare produce for sales. I’ve learned how to properly care for everything, and I like seeing what I’ve grown.     

Everybody is here for everybody.     
I’ve lived in North Lawndale my whole life. It’s such a positive community—so many people to check up on you, say good morning to you. Everybody is here for everybody; we have each other’s back.      

This place is family.     
I’ve been working with Windy City Harvest for six years. I started here when I was 14 years old!      

Over the years here, I’ve seen people grow into better positions. I’ve seen them doing well. My hope for the future is more of the same: people growing food, and people growing for life.     

For me, the Farm on Ogden is a positive place. I can be myself here, and there are always people to support me. This place is family for me.

Pasante en la granja juvenil, Windy City Harvest

Kayla Sanders fue pasante en el verano de 2023 en la Granja Juvenil situada junto a este edificio. Como pasante, cultivo frutas y verduras, cosecho y preparo los productos para la venta. He aprendido a cuidarlo todo correctamente y me gusta ver lo que he cultivado.

Todos están aquí para todos.

He vivido en North Lawndale toda mi vida. Es una comunidad muy positiva, con tanta gente que se preocupa por ti y comparte sus buenos días contigo. Todos están aquí para todos. Nos cuidamos entre todos. 

Este lugar es como un segundo hogar.

Llevo seis años trabajando con Windy City Harvest. Empecé a trabajar aquí a los 14 años. A lo largo de los años, he visto a gente ascender a puestos mejores. Les va bien. Mi deseo para el futuro es que siga ocurriendo lo mismo: que la gente cultive alimentos y que lo haga de por vida.    

Para mí, Farm on Ogden es un lugar positivo. Aquí puedo ser quien soy y siempre hay gente que me apoya. Este lugar es como un segundo

 hogar.
