Pink Princess Weigela

Weigela florida ‘Pink Princess’ is a 6-to-9-foot shrub that, in May and June, is covered with lavender-pink flowers that hummingbirds find irresistible. Flowers are produced on previous seasons' growth so any pruning to keep the shrub within bounds needs to be done immediately after flowering is complete.  'Pink Princess' has no fall color or ornamental fruit to speak of; this shrub should be partnered with other shrubs to provide interest in late summer, fall, and winter.

Bees, butterflies, and hummingbirds love Weigela, and so do gardeners. For a plant that gives
you so much to look at, they're very easy to care for. No particular
disease or pest problems. No special soil requirements. No deadheading. This is a tough, hardy plant that thrives in average soil, moderate water, and full sun.
