'Pumila' is a dwarf cultivar that has a cone-like shape that reaches a height of 5’ with a similar spread. The green summer foliage gets a brownish cast in winter. It prefers moist, well-drained loams in full sun to part shade. It is not fussy about soil pH but is intolerant of dry conditions.
