Taxus x media 'Densiformis'

Dense Intermediate Yew

This hybrid yew cultivar is a cross between Japanese yews (Taxus cuspidata) and English yews (Taxus baccata).  This particular one is a semi-dwarf, dense, spreading, evergreen shrub that grows to 3-4' tall with a spread of 5-7’.  It will tolerate a wide range of conditions from full sun to almost full shade, a wide range of soils as long as they are well drained, but is intolerant of temperature extremes. This is one of the few conifers that can tolerate heavy pruning.  Please note that all parts of this plant are poisonous if ingested.
