This sage cultivar comes into flower early, with tall spikes of deep blue flowers on a black whorl of sepals. Sages thrive in full sun, warm temperatures, and soils that are well- drained. Butterfly and hummingbird magnets of the first order, this salvia has a fragrant foliage that deters rabbits, deer, and other herbivores.
