Pioneer Rhododendron

This shrub is semi-evergreen with its leaves turning mahogany red in fall. Lavender flowers appear in early April. It can reach a height of 6-8' with a spread of 4-5'. Like all rhododendrons, it prefers well-drained, fertile, acidic soil in partial shade.
