Saffier Grape Hyacinth

Muscari armeniacum ‘Saffier’ stands 6 -8 inches tall and blooms in mid to late spring with conical racemes of medium blue buds . The buds never actually open fully and the plant never sets seed. The mouth of each floret is pale green and constricted, thus preventing pollinating insects from entering. The plant increases only by division and has a longer bloom time than flowers that rush to set seed. Plant it in full sun to part shade. It is resistant to deer and other critters and is hardy in zones 4 – 8.
