Ohio Glow Beebalm

Ohio Glow is a long-blooming beebalm that grows 3 feet to 4 feet tall and about 2 feet to 3 feet wide. As part of an evaluation of monardas held at the Chicago Botanic Garden, Ohio Glow was found to be long blooming, with a good habit with 2- to 3-inch blossoms covering 80% to 100% of the plant, and good mildew resistance. Overall it received a positive evaluation for planting in the Chicagoland area.Ohio Glow grows in sunny or partially shady areas. If you gently rub your finger across the leaf, you'll be pleasantly surprised by its fragrance. Bright pompons of scarlet flowers bloom in mid summer, and removing faded flowers will result in weeks of flowering. Beebalm is great for attracting bees and butterflies to your garden. It's easy to grow and adds a lot of color to your border. Cut back at the end of the summer.
