Orienpet Lily

Lilium‘American Way’ has very large bright yellow flowers in early to mid summer. The flowers are huge, measuring 9 to 12 inches across and are borne on stems which can reach 6 feet. The blooms have a delightful fragrance and face outward with thick recurved petals. American Way is an Orienpet lily, a cross between an Oriental lily and a Trumpet lily which combines the tall, strong stems of the Trumpets with the fragrance of the Orientals. These hybrids have an Increased ability to withstand late spring frosts as well as hot summer days. The unsurpassed grace and beauty of this lily makes it a lovely addition to the garden. Lilies love full sun, but will do well in partial shade. They tolerate hot summer days, as long as the bulbs are deep enough to remain cool. Lower plants surrounding the lilies will help protect their roots from drying out. Lilies make an excellent cut flower with long lasting blooms and buds that continue to mature and open after cutting.
