Silver Gumdrop Alumroot

Silver Gumdrop Alumroot is lovely little plant with a sophisticated color combination. A small silvery colored Heuchera villosa hybrid with improved tolerance for heat and humidity. The silvery leaves are semi-glossy and mature with a slight rose tone. The flowers appear mid-summer on 24 inch pink scapes and are a delightful bright pink. The silver leaves and bright pink flowers make a delightful combination. Silver Gumdrop Alumroot will mature to a small leafy mound about 8 inches high and 24 inches wide. It is resistant to deer and the flowers will attract hummingbirds and bees. In milder climates the leaves will remain attractive in winter. It would work well in mixed containers, as a small scale groundcover in shade, and in the front row of a semi shade perennial border. It was first introduced by Walters Gardens in 2016.
