Cherry Cola Heuchera

First introduced in 2010 as part of the SODA series, Heuchera 'Cherry Cola' is a striking all over red introduction from Terra Nova Nurseries. Cherry Cola Coral Bells has red foliage and red flowers, and as per the name, looks like a cherry cola. The leaves emerge red in color and older leaves are mixture of the red and golden brown shades. This is a coral bells for full sun or part shade, the red color being best developed with the most sun. It will attract bees and hummingbirds, and is deer resistant. This coral bells will mature to a tidy mounded form about 6 inches tall by 14 inches wide; the unusual spikes of red flowers will appear in in late spring to early summer and increase the height to 18 inches. The coral bells with colorful leaves are primarily grown for their decorative and outstanding foliage, but the airy spikes of flowers in spring and summer can add a delicate accent. Coral bells work well in containers and the front row of borders, and these can be mass planted in sun to partial shade as a groundcover. In milder climates the foliage is persistent and decorative. The other names in the series are Heuchera 'Ginger Ale', 'Grape Soda' and 'Root Beer'.
