Baltimore Oriole Daylily

Baltimore Oriole daylily has lovely velvety red blooms. The triangular to star shaped flowers are large, measuring 6” in diameter. It blooms in mid to late season. It is attractive to butterflies but not attractive to rabbits. Although each flower lasts only one day, there are multiple buds on each stalk and several stalks on each plant. The buds open in series, so a single plant may continue to bloom for 2 weeks or more. However, the buds are delicate and can be can be knocked off easily. 'Baltimore Oriole' is quite striking both as an accent in the garden and in mass plantings. It is easy to grow and does well in full sun to part shade.
