Baja Daylily

Baja daylily has large, deep red blossoms with a yellow throat fading to green. It blooms early to mid season, and often reblooms. With petals that curve back gently, it attracts butterflies. Baja is quite striking both as an accent to a garden and in mass plantings. Although each flower lasts only one day, there are multiple buds on each stalk and several stalks on each plant. The buds open in series, so a single plant may continue to bloom for 2 weeks or more. It is easy to grow and does well in full sun to part shade. The American Hemerocallis Society awarded Baja Honorable Mention in 1977 and Award of Merit in 1980.
