Bright yellow, medium-sized sunflowers with brown eyes are produced in masses at the ends of the 2-foot stems from September through early November on this cultivar of a Chicago region prairie native. Full sun and well-drained soils are keys to success. This plant is a pollinator magnet and a reliable harbinger of cooler temperatures to come.
