Ed Gartner Freeman Maple
This cultivar was selected from a remnant native population on the property of Ed Gartmann in Waukesha County by Michael Yanny of Johnson Nursery. It has a dense habit with good red and orange fall color and can tolerate alkaline soils. The tree will grow twice as tall as it is wide. Freeman maples are an uncommon, naturally occurring cross between red maple and silver maple.
