This tree is a cross between the Shantung maple (Acer truncatum) and the Norway maple (Acer platinoides). It can reach a height of 35 feet with a spread of 25 feet. Its foliage is a beautiful deep purple that changes to maroon and reddish bronze in the fall. It is extremely heat tolerant.
