Marion T. Hall was an American botanist, plant taxonomist, educator, museum administrator, and a major figure in 20th-century American horticulture and arboretum leadership. Hall is best known for his 24-year tenure as director of The Morton Arboretum. He became director emeritus upon his retirement in 1990.

  • Established a 90,000-specimen herbarium
  • Built a major research center with professional and student positions
  • Expanded greenhouses and developed endangered species habitats
