Vanda (lamellata x Noi Blue) x Rhynchostylis coelestis

Hybrid Orchid

Resembling over-sized pansies, most vanda orchids can be recognized by the five rounded petals with a very small cup in the center. This cultivar has soft salmon-orange flower petals with a thin white rim. The backs of the petals are also white. Northern gardeners like this species because it can thrive at lower temperatures than many other showy orchids because it is native to the Himalayan foothills from Assam east to China and Vietnam.
