Prickly Rose

Prickly rose is one tough native rose. It's found growing wild in northern Ontario and Alaska. It's found thriving at the edges of forests, and on top of cliffs, putting on its show of  bright pink flowers. Unlike modern multi-petaled roses, prickly rose has what are called simple flowers, 5 or 6 petals, forming a cup around the bright yellow center.
