Lycoris longituba flava has been named. Up to 15 different colors and forms from white to yellow to pink and median shades have been recognized in China. It is hardy to USDA Zone 5 and is a vigorous and fertile diploid readily producing seed and hybridizing with other fertile species. It is believed to be one of the parents of the sterile triploid, Lycoris squamigera.
