Snowcap Shasta Daisy

Easy-to-grow Shasta daisies are one of the most popular of all perennials. Named for California's Mount Shasta, these daisies were first hybridized by American botanist Luther Burbank from three species of European daisies. Each flower is 3 inches across and has pristine white petals surrounding a yellow button disk. Snowcap Shasta daisy (Leucanthemum × superbum 'Snowcap') is short and compact with a uniform size, and it blooms abundantly from late spring to midsummer. Plant 'Snowcap' in full sun with good drainage in beds or borders, where it will attract butterflies. Shasta daisies should not be confused with the May-blooming, weedy ox-eye daisy that is frequently seen along roadsides.
