Cocktail Amaryllis

Red flowers feature a striking white center on this non-hardy bulb that is often used during the Holidays. Place flowering plants in the brightest possible locations to avoid the flowering stalks from lodging (falling over sideways) towards a source of brighter light. Scientifically this is the result of phototropism, the plant cells on the side of the stem opposite the light expanding at a faster rate than those on the side facing the light.
