Pardon Me Daylily

Pardon Me daylily has bright red flowers with yellow green throats. The flowers are miniature, measuring only 2.75 inches across. The edges of the petals are ruffled while the edges of the sepals are smooth. In zones 6-7 the flowers are fragrant and attract butterflies. This is a nocturnal daylily. The flowers open up in late afternoon and close the next morning. Although each flower lasts only one night, there are multiple buds on each stalk and several stalks on each plant. The buds open in series, so a single plant will continue to bloom for 2 weeks or more. It may re-bloom. It is easy to grow and does well in full sun to part shade. The American Hemerocallis Society awarded 'Pardon Me' Honorable Mention in1984, Donn Fischer Memorial Cup Award in 1985 for best miniature and Award of Merit in 1987.
