Nicholas Daylily

Nicholas daylily has gold blooms with a green throat. The 7-inch flowers are unusually large and delightfully fragrant. A nocturnal bloomer, the flowers typically open up in the late afternoon and close the morning of the following day. Although each flower lasts only one night, there are multiple buds on each stalk and several stalks on each plant. The buds open in series, so a single plant will continue to bloom for 2 weeks or more. It is easy to grow and does well in full sun to part shade. Nicholas has been awarded the Junior Citation and Honorable Mention by the American Hemerocallis Society.
