Midnight Magic daylily has very deep burgundy red flowers with yellow throats in early season. The blooms are 5 ½ inches and last for 16 hours or more. The foliage is quite tall, measuring 38 inches.  In milder climates the foliage is green all year round. Although each flower lasts only one day, there are multiple buds on each stalk and several stalks on each plant. The buds open in series, so a single plant will continue to bloom for 2 weeks or more. It is easy to grow and does well in full sun to part shade. Midnight Magic has been awarded the Lenington All American Award, Junior Citation, Honorable Mention, and Award of Merit by the American Hemerocallis Society.
