Farm Incubator Program

Farm Incubator

About the Farm Incubator Program

The Incubator Program is designed as a 3-year journey. Year one is focused on apprenticeship, where participants learn the essential skills and tools to build their farm business. In addition, apprentices are required to take a business class through our partner, the Sunshine Community Business Academy.

For the next one to two years, the program offers incubation, supporting farmers as they develop and grow their small farm businesses. This program is tailored for independent farmers who want to establish either an urban or peri-urban farm, with the option to start small. Farmers can sell their produce through our market channels or connect with other partners we collaborate with. By the second year, participants are expected to expand their markets. The ultimate goal is to create a sustainable, local fresh produce market for the Chicagoland area.
