Indian Pink

(Spigelia marilandica)

Indian Pink Found in moist woodlands, Indian Pink has clumps of dark-green leaves topped by red tubular flowers. “It’s perfectly hardy here, despite often being labeled as Zone 6, and it attracts hummingbirds to boot,” said Jim Ault, director of ornamental plant research. Ault grows this plant at home in dappled to deep shade alongside coral bells, bleeding hearts, and native wild ginger.
