Peace Hybrid Tea Rose

The Peace hybrid tea rose (Rosa 'Peace') grows up to 6 feet high with full sun and moderate moisture. From mid-June through mid-October this beautiful rose produces fragrant pink, yellow, and white blooms that attract butterflies. Its size works well toward the back of the flower border.

The Peace rose was sent by noted French horticulturist Francis Meilland to a number of colleagues outside of France just before that country was invaded by Germany during World War II. In Italy it is known by the trademark name Gioia (Glory) and in Germany as Gloria Dei (Glory of God). It was given the name 'Peace' on the last day of World War II in the United States. In France is it known by its true cultivar name, 'Madame A. Meilland', in honor of the hybridizer's mother.
