Tall Bearded Iris

Iris ‘Carol Ellen Ramsey’ is an amazing blend of colors that demands to be noticed. The standards are a blend of pale lavender and champagne yellow with lavender purple streaks. The falls are pale lavender fading to white with gold rims and gold to purple beards. It is classified as a Border Bearded Iris with stalks that stand 26” high and blooms in early to mid season. It is an excellent cut flower and is attractive to butterflies and hummingbirds while resistant to rabbits and deer. Iris is the name of the Greek goddess of the rainbow. The classic ‘Fleur de Lys’ which has been a symbol of royalty throughout history is an adaptation of the iris flower.
