Imperial Wine Dahlia

Deep wine-colored flowers with lightly fringed petals usually mature about 4 inches in size on a plant that tops out at 5 feet. Plant this dahlia in full sun and in moderately rich, moist, well-drained soil. Pinch back the central growing tip to encourage additional lateral branches. The flowers are held upright on long stems and make excellent cut flowers. The flower color does not fade as it ages.
