Monte Cassino Heath Aster
Monte Cassino Aster is covered in white daisy-like flowers in late fall on mounded plants to 3 feet in height with whispy leaves. A native to North America, it, like all of the other species formerly included in the genus Aster, have been moved to other genera based upon the results of DNA analysis. Plant in full sun in average soil and avoid excessive fertilization (plants will flop over). This plant is beloved by bees and other pollinators stocking up on pollen and nectar before the onset of winter.
