Sky-blue flowers with a white "bee," or spot, on the lip are clustered towards the tips of the tall, flowering stems in fall. The light green foliage is slightly sticky and is resistant to deer and rabbit browse. One of the few sages that prefers moist soils, it is also tolerant of dryish soils as well. Full sun is ideal. Half hardy in Chicago depending on the microclimate it is planted in and the severity of the winter weather.
