Meadow Sage
‘Ostfriesland’ is an upright clump-forming perennial known for its compact form, long bloom period, purple stems and violet-purple flowers. The lance-shaped light green leaves are aromatic and the foliage grows to 10 inches tall. From June through September, the plant produces tubular flowers, extending the plant height to 18 inches. The flowers are attractive to bees and butterflies and the plant tolerates dry soil, drought, air pollution, and deer.
