This free-flowering, compact selection of the native black-eyed Susan is covered with golden-yellow, sterile petals surrounding the brownish-purple disk of fertile flowers from late summer into fall. Plant this black-eyed Susan in full sun and in well-drained soil and avoid excessive fertilizer, which would cause the plants to flop over.
