Miraguama Palm
The Miraguama palm is native to the dry inland savannas of Cuba. It has striking deeply-cut circular leaves (palmate) which are dark green on the upper side and silvery green underneath. The leaflets appear to be pleated, an appearance which is enhanced by this difference in color. The Miraguama palm grows to about 30 feet tall in suitable conditions. This palm is not hardy in Chicago and must be overwintered in a warm sunny greenhouse.
