Maulei Flowering Quince
Native to Japan, Chaenomeles japonica ‘Maulei' is an oval or rounded shrub producing orange or salmon-colored flowers in late winter and early spring. The flowers give way to yellow and red fruit that attract birds. It reaches a maximum height of 3 feet under full sun or partial shade and dry to moist water conditions and is clay-tolerant. The plant is ideal as a specimen or as a hedge is suitable for espalier treatment.
