Fir
Firs are evergreen pyramidal trees native to Europe, northern Africa, Asia, and North America. They can be distinguished from other evergreens by the long, flat needles. They require full sun to part shade in moist, well-drained soil and prefer colder climates; they do not flourish in heat, dry conditions, or air pollution. Pruning should be kept to a minimum; new growth seldom develops when older branches are removed.
