Renowned neurosurgeon, medical educator, and Chicago civic leader
Born in Evanston and educated at Northwestern University, Dr. Oldberg joined the University of Illinois College of Medicine in 1931 and served as Professor and Head of Neurology and Neurological Surgery from 1936 to 1971. Beyond his impressive career in medicine, he had a long record of civic leadership with the Chicago Boards of Health and Education, as well as the Chicago Orchestral Association, Ravinia Festival Association, and other cultural institutions. He is well-remembered for his dedication to public service.
