Three Smart Ways to Give to the Garden

 1. Donate Appreciated Securities (Stock Gifts) Donating appreciated securities, like stocks, is a smart and tax-savvy way to support the Chicago Botanic Garden. You may avoid capital gains taxes while making a meaningful impact—it's simple, efficient, and helps the Garden flourish for future generations.

2. Use your Donor Advised Fund (DAF) Using your donor advised fund (DAF) to support the Chicago Botanic Garden is simple. Just recommend a grant to the Garden through your DAF provider, using our legal name and tax ID (see below). It’s an easy way to help the Garden grow and inspire all year long.

3. Make a Gift from Your IRA Making a gift to the Chicago Botanic Garden through your IRA using a Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD) is a smart and simple way to support the Garden’s mission. If you're 70½ or older, a QCD allows you to donate directly from your IRA (up to $100,000) — potentially lowering your taxable income while making a meaningful impact. It’s a beautiful way to grow your legacy while helping the Garden thrive. Just contact your IRA custodian and request a direct transfer to the Chicago Botanic Garden.
