Kevin Malover, CIO

Kevin Malover is the chief information officer at the Chicago Botanic Garden. He leads the information technology, eCommerce, and project management teams in support of the Garden’s public engagement, research, and education missions.  

Malover oversees digital strategy, cybersecurity, and data governance, ensuring technology enables user experience, revenue generation, and operational excellence. Partnering closely with senior leadership, he aligns initiatives with strategic goals across science, learning, horticulture, and administration.

Previously, Malover built and scaled digital capabilities as the CIO at five companies, each in a different industry, stage of maturity, and competitive environment. His experience spans a diverse range of industries including financial services, travel, transportation, telecommunication, politics, hospitality, and private equity. Kevin began his career at Ameritech, where he applied engineering and operations best practices to large-scale computing and data networks. He holds an M.B.A from Oakland University and a B.S. in mathematics from Lawrence Technological University.
