Burle Marx Earth Star
Earth Stars are terrestrial bromeliads native to the rainforests of eastern Brazil where they grow on the forest floor. The Burle Marx earth star is named for the renowned Brazilian landscape architect Roberto Burle Marx who championed the use of native plants in his highly original modern designs. The earth star has leathery leaves that form a central rosette, and each dark brown frond has silvery white bands. When seen from above this plant could almost be a sea creature.
