This plant may look like a grass, but it’s actually a member of the lily family. It blooms in late summer with small white-lavender flowers. It can grow in full sun to partial shade and prefers moist, fertile soils. Useful as groundcover for controlling erosion, it naturalizes by rhizomes and can become aggressive.
