Early Bird Peony

Early flower, finely dissected foliage, and brilliant red color are all hallmarks of this remarkably rare hybrid between Paeonia tenuifolia (Caucasus to Ukraine) and Paeonia veitchii var. woodwardia (China). Easily among the earliest of the herbaceous perennial peonies to flower. Full sun and moderately fertile, well-drained soils are key to success.
